Alternative Art Spaces The Alternative Art Spaces Program is operated by The East Valley Art Guild to help promote artists thought the East Valley. What is an Alternative Art Space? Artists have long desired to display their art in Art Galleries as a way to gain recognition and possible sales of their art. The biggest obstacle to most artists is that they were either not well known enough to get a gallery invitation, or there were just not enough art galleries for the many quality artists that were in the local community. The Guild has developed a program that gives renewed opportunities to the artist, through the innovative use of “Alternative Art Spaces”, or locations for displaying art that is not an art gallery. What kind of Alternative Art Spaces does the Guild work with? The typical Alternative Art Spaces can run from a pizza restaurant, to a coffee shop, or from an office building to a retail merchant. I am a local business, and would like to have a rotating display of art on my walls. How do I become an Alternative Art Space member? The first step for any business, merchant, or property manager that wishes to participate is to contact the Guild. A Guild representative will discuss your location, environment, and specific requirements with you.
